I’m a 30-year-old mountaineer, and long distance paddler, who has backpacked all over the globe. I spend the majority of my time in the backcountry of Missouri, floating Missouri’s big rivers, Ozark streams or backpacking the glades and ridges of the Ozark mountains. Hey, I just found you guys via Instagram. I’m from St. Louis and currently live in the area but at heart, I’m a mountain girl. I’ve hiked off and on since my teens, and finally went on my first solo backpacking trip to the Olympic National Park last year. I’m trying to find people in the area with similar interests to meet and bounce trip ideas off of, etc. Most meet ups in the area that I’ve found are for people who aren’t interested in hard hikes, etc, or are much older. I wanted to see if there was a way to connect. I’m trying to expand my knowledge of where to go that is drivable from STL. I’m taking my kids to the Apostle Islands next year, and am dying to find more cool spots to take them or myself. Thanks for your time, and killer blog!
